not sure who you are asking but allow me to give my 2 cents on the ASR X Pro. I owned one for 2 years and it was probably my favorite piece of gear i've ever owned. i've had just about every Akai and E-mu on the market and the ASR X was just pure sickness. it sounded so great. sampling and resampling was actually enjoyable and the effects were bananas. to make it quick: Buy the ASR X if you are looking for a great sampler that has features that will inspire you to do new things while sounding AWESOME. Don't buy it for the sequencer because it sucks ass. Although if you slave it off the Xl-7 the timing will be tight. my advice is to get it before they completely disappear. it is a classic and is capable of many things and is much more fun than a rackmount sampler. --- In xl7@y..., "guilt" <guilt23@c...> wrote:

I own one right now, I slave it to my xl-7. Deadly combination man! The ASR-X PRO is probably the warmest sampler on the planet. I love it, red was my first love!!

I enjoy my maxed out black asr-x too. I have yet to do a meaningful comparison with my A5000, but I have always felt and contended that the ASRX is one damn fine phrase sampler (especially with the stellar effects and resampling). Yes, you are right! It is *warm*-- never thought about that. Ravi

i don't think you'll find a "new" one anywhere since they have been out of production for quite some time. e-mu sells "refurbished" ones for $999 but i've seen them and you will get one in same or better shape from ebay or another used site. try ebay, sonicstate, and harmony-central. there always seems to be one or two for sale. remember, if you go for the black box instead of the red be sure that it has the SCSi option installed or you will have serious trouble finding one for it. personally, i'd get the black one. the differences are minor and you will save a few hundred dollars. happy hunting! --- In xl7@y..., "guilt" <guilt23@c...> wrote: > allright so i abuse. > i think i visited all the sites and mailing lists about that gear now > how do you think i should pay for it? > without any option but never went out of the box... > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Ravi Ivan Sharma > To: xl7@y... > Sent: Friday, December 06, 2002 6:02 AM > Subject: Re: [xl7] Re: asrx pro > > > I enjoy my maxed out black asr-x too.
