HI Does anyone knows if there's a time streching function on the XL7 ?? (or something else similar...??)

To stretch what? There's no audio manipulation capabilities in the
XX-7's, so time strecthing doesn't apply.

Hmm, must be some kind of miscommmunication going on here. Yes, I'm quite aware of both of those bands, I was a huge psy-trance fiend not too long ago, and still break out my old Flying Rhino records now and then. Anyway, to me time-stretching is a process applied to an audio file to make it longer or shorter in order to fit with pre-existing material. However, I'm confused when you mention it in the context of the XL-7 or RM1x, as both of those are midi sequencers and have nothing to do with audio files. Perhaps you could give an example of the timestretching in the RM1x so I can understand what you're asking? rEalm Do U know Hallucinogen or shpongle, british pioneer called Simon Posford? For the hallucinogen there's no problem ... But for the realtime timestrech on the XL7 ?? To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: xl7-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com Your use of Yahoo! It would be awesome of the MP-7 could take a pattern and stretch the 8th notes to quarter from or condense them to 16th ----- Original Message -----

You can do that already actually, it's called Scale/Shift Duration :) It's not realtime, but it work in pre-production. rEalm It would be awesome of the MP-7 could take a pattern and stretch the 8th notes to quarter from or condense them to 16th [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

You mean you can double time? IE if a track is at 180 bpm it will stretch all notes to work as if it were 90 bpm? ----- Original Message -----

No, I meant it would stretch 8th notes to be 1/4 notes in length and vice
versa (and with all other clock divisors too). Sorry, there seems to be
some confusion with terminology today, I thought you were referring to
duration, not tempo.

Hi, yes, you´re right there`s no way manipulating the audiosignal in XX-7, there could be a note stretch, but so far nothing at all, I think that´s what the RM1 X does... It´s an old analog tech, you can find it in Reason as part of the redrum sequencer f.e., I checked that program just, and I´m really convinced of that complex machine. Nice to make some analog sounds with reason and integrating it in the hardware I use. Someone said that every sound could be found as a sample, that´s wrong, cause you can´t get all different settings as an analog machine, what about Frequencemodulation, there´s no way to simulate that, I think. And damn analog really sounds different...
