24 bit CDs

You can create a cd with 24 bit sound by simply saving your wav pattern at this range... >>>Yes, but a 24 bit wav file on a CDR is not a 24 bit audio CD. In order to comply with the red book standard, all audio data that will be stored on a regular must be 16/44.1. If you look at the link you provided for the CD player below, it does not play 24 bit CDs (which don't exist), but it will UPSAMPLE the CD data to those specs. Big difference. <<< not all programs are capable...for instance fruity loops I believe is capable you just have to change your save settings from the defaulted 16 bit to 24 bit.... >>>Definitely, I always work at 24 bits in SX. <<< But 24 bit cd players as you can see, do exist....they are just High priced as all to be damned!! >>>Yeah, but they can only play 16 bit CDs. <<< Stay cool Realm... >>>Not starting anything, trying to clarify some points :) There's no such this as a 24 bit audio CD. The closest we can hope for right now is the formal acceptance of the DVD-A spec, which would provide audio playback of files up to 24/184 if I remember correctly (the sample rate might be higher). Of course, this is only in DVD format, I doubt we'll ever see CDs with file sizes like that. <<< rEalm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
