Ah great, I got that buzzing in my headphones last night for the very first time. Weird, as I hadn't moved the Xl-7 since the last time I used it. I remembered about tightening the case screws but they were fine, as were all the circuit board screws too. Anything else I can check, this is damn annoying! :) rEalm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I just got my mp-7 back from the shop, the headphone buzz is a covered repair. But be careful of Advanced Musical Electronics in L.A., it took them over 2 weeks to get it back to me (I had to ship it). Does anyone have the gooseneck lamp? any opinions? thanks! -payntaraspen --- In xl7@y..., "->Nobody<-" <poumtschak@f...> wrote:

Any idea of what has been fixed? If anything... Aaron Eppolito admitted it was a grounding problem from the front pannel when the unit was opened and closed back again. Thightening some screws did reduce the problem on mine, though it still hums a little bit. Any idea to improve the grounding between the two chassis pieces? Wiring the one to the other? Or would using copper screws help? payntaraspen wrote: > I just got my mp-7 back from the shop, the headphone buzz is a > covered repair. -- Sebastien, -=-=-=-=-= What this country needs is a good five-cent microcomputer. mailto:poumtschak@... -=- ICQ# 6030405 http://poumtschak.free.fr/ (a few Mp3 in bulk...) http://www.mp3.com/unpretentious

I also got this problem from out of the blue....opened up unit, took out rom's and replaced, made sure the surface of the base and cover lined up perfectly and tigtened down the screws quite tightly...whatever magic...buzz gone...I also made sure the power supply wires were tucked out of the way as they can kind of get pushed down toward the circuit boards...whatever combo did what, it does not buzz in the phones or anywhere...good luck --------------------------------------------- Introducing NetZero Long Distance 1st month Free! Just opened my Korg Wavestation EX this afternoon (had to replace the
LCD backlight). I could'nt believe how complex and well built this
unit is compared to the XL-7. It took me several hours to get the job
done actually.
It's heavy, shielded, it has copper inserts on several places so the
casing is grounded ok, the paint has been painstakingly taken off around
all the mounting holes... Wow.
And it's *dead* quiet, as it's always been.
A 10 years old synth.
My Electribe EA-1 also had a lot of copper inside (but the case was
plastic). E-MU could use some. :(

Just to show all is not lost, I just finally got around to popping the TechnoSynth Construction Yard and a custom Flash ROM in my MP-7. No Buzz. I did pay close attention to making sure both sides were clean and the screws were snug. PG1

No, I didn't get a detailed repair receipt (of course!), but the USB port was loose also (that was not a covered repair) --- In xl7@y..., "->Nobody<-" <poumtschak@f...> wrote: > Any idea of what has been fixed? Is the buzz only coming out the headphone jack? It seems like it would also come out the main L/R as well. If this is the case, we may be dealing with another problem. ??? --- In xl7@y..., "payntaraspen" <payntaraspen@h...> wrote: > No, I didn't get a detailed repair receipt (of course!), but the USB

Hi, the buzzing in my headphone is one of my secret instruments, could it be generally if layers are too loud that they could make that cruuups and craaaps, it happens sometimes I don´t know why, perhaps my mixer or my boxes, don´t know, Christoph Ah great, I got that buzzing in my headphones last night for the very first time.
