Hello there, I figured out how to get the MP-7 to change programs in an external synth, but I still can't get the unit to send the arpeggiator data to the midi ports. Is there something I am missing? I already set ARP menu to transmit the data. Is there something else to be done? Cheers. S

It just dosn't really work right, or at least it dosnt work in such a way that a logicaly minded synth geek like ourselves would expect it to....I've tryed and tryed, the only way to do it, is to set the midi assignment to 'both' (ext and int) in the pattern edit mode for that track, then turn the arp on for the preset selected, and turn the volume of that preset off, then it works.... I STILL have not found anyway to record the arp's outputs into a track on a note by note basis...it will record the note on, and note off, but nothing in between....real bummer eh? Connect one of the XX7's MIDI outs to its MIDI input and set the ARP up to send external MIDI notes. Record the generated MIDI notes into a different track. This also works for recording audition riffs, and its cousin SuperBeats. drk www.delora.com/music www.mp3.com/zdrk drk.iuma.com

Thanx for the answer, but... if I set the track to "both" then the program changes don't work, right? --- In xl7@y..., "ByronIV" <byron@l...> wrote: > > It just dosn't really work right, or at least it dosnt work in such a way > that a logicaly minded synth geek like ourselves would expect it to....I've > tryed and tryed, the only way to do it, is to set the midi assignment to > 'both' (ext and int) in the pattern edit mode for that track, then turn the > arp on for the preset selected, and turn the volume of that preset off, then > it works.... > > I STILL have not found anyway to record the arp's outputs into a track on a > note by note basis...it will record the note on, and note off, but nothing > in between....real bummer eh? > > ByronIV > > > Hello there, > > I figured out how to get the MP-7 to change programs in an external > synth, but I still can't get the unit to send the arpeggiator data to
