multichannel: please help

multichannel: please help

2001-10-18 by tokinhood@yahoo.com

Hi,
Can someone explain how to use the MultiChannel per Track recording
method? I must have read the manual on that section 20 times and
still have a hard time getting the concept. I experimented with the
actual assignment but everytime I switch to a new Channel on the same
track for new presets, my previous tracks (while playing my current)
gets overwritten with different presets. What am I doing wrong? I
set track 1 for Multi A with Destination Both and allocate Channels
A01-A05 for different unique presets and save, and I increase to
track 2 and try to assign Channels A01-A05 for another unique presets
the track 1 playing in the backgroud sounds different than what I had
wanted it. Obviously this is not how Multichannel per Track
recording works and I'm very baffled.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

I see what you're doing wrong. With in a pattern, there are 32
internal MIDI channels to set your presets up in. These are labeled
01A to 16A and 01B to 16B. All 16 of the sequencer tracks share these
channels. If you've used channels 01A through 05A for presets used by
track 1 and then want different presets for track 2, you should use
06A through 11A. Does that help?
