I am a new mp7 user. Ineed to know how to record my own songs or patterns. When I record I end up hearing the factory patterns instead of what I want to create. I am totally confused. Please help

There are 4 banks of 127 patterns 000/0. . .127/0, 000/1. . .127/1, 000/2. . .127/2 and 000/3. . .127/3.
The first bank has preset patterns in it. I believe you can erase those. But anyway the last three banks have empty patterns and I believe are named "empty pattern"
Go to an empty pattern or erase an existing pattern and then record from there.
To do all of these things you need to read your manual. The sequencer section begins on page 49 and the recording instructions begin a few pages later. Doing so will hopefully clear up a lot of your confusion.
Have fun and good luck.

Just occurred to me that you might have the controller numbers messed up in the "REALTIME CONTROLLER#" pages in the Controller menu. If they're all set to the same thing, you might be getting weird behavior. Alternatively, it could be the hardware cable that connects the knob board to the main front panel. Try recording some knobs into a sequence and see what controller numbers you're getting (in list edit). -Aaron --- David DeciBel <spec@...> wrote: > aaron, sorry to bug you, but I'm having a serious problem with my > quick edit knobs. WOW! That was it! They were all set to 1... kinda sucked overall. I changed the values in some of them to anything other than 1, and kapow, fixed. Why, I don'tk now, but i'm glad.... So what exactly should i change these values to? --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Aaron Eppolito <synthesis77@y...> wrote: > Just occurred to me that you might have the controller numbers messed > up in the "REALTIME CONTROLLER#" pages in the Controller menu.
