Pattern Question...

Pattern Question...

2001-10-16 by Biomech

Hello all.

I don't own an XL-7 yet but, I hope I will soon. I am currently a
MC505 owner and one of the things that bothers me about the Roland
sequencer is: If you have an 8 bar pattern and you trigger a long
sound (let's say a pad) in the eighth bar, it's sound will cut off
when the pattern loops back to bar one. Has anyone tried this on the
XL-7 or MP-7? What about a note that was held through the end of bar
8 and into bar one?

Thanks in advance.

That bothers us too, so we made sure that if you hold a note past the
last bar of your pattern it continue to play and if you like, it is
recorded as well. No cut offs in the XL / MP-7.

Sorry to answer about a different product, but with the mc505, all you need to do is set the Amp Release time for that patch slightly longer. 95% of the time you won't even hear any other difference in your patch.

No, just make sure you release the note *before* you played it in the
measure. For example, in a 4 bar pattern, if you play a note at 3.1 (the
first beat of the third measure) that you let it up before 3.1 the next time
around the loop (i.e. sometime during the fourth beat of the second measure).
