On the Horizon for the XL/MP series!

On the Horizon for the XL/MP series!

Hey Yeah! Talked with an EMU tech today, and though they of course, can't promise anything, I got the idea (my interpretation only) that the USB port will be used for loading samples
from other sources, and that there may well be additional assignments for the touch strip so that you could , trigger or modulate many cc's at once instead of having only the hard-wired
mod-wheel mapping now. That is really one reason I got the XL-7: I loved the ability I had on the JP-8000's ribbon, to load up with bunches of controller parameters and create vulcan
mind-melds with subtle finger nuances!!! Seems like many other incredible upgrades are also planned for these boxes! Kudos to EMU! Great sound, super smart design, and flexi-evolving
architecture.

just wondering

Is it posable to wright over the sounds on the XL-7 ROM?

Mike,

Not on the ROM itself, but when you use the save function, it
defaults to one of the user locations(same bank and preset #)which
are duplicates of the ROM.

Later,

M2

sorry M2

I should have explained myself better but that is what happens when
you are over tired i guess.

I am wondering if it is posable to put the XL-7s FLASH ROM into my
E5000 and wright over the existing samples with ones that suit me
better?

I dont think this is possable but i just thought i would ask.

Also M2 are the duplicates of the rom stored in RAM in the XL-7 when
you boot up? Think its time to open the manual :)
Thanks for your reply M2

Peace

I don't think the ROM's that ship with the box are Flash. They
should be true "read only" ROM's.

That's correct. The 512 presets on the ROM are duplicated in the
user presets.

CC#79 = mix output (0=preset, 1=send1/main, 2=send2/sub1, 3=send3/sub2,
4=send4)

CC#80 = arp status (0=off, 1=on, 2=preset, 3=master)
