I thought E-Loader could only do Pattern transfers right now? How'd you get it to upload an OS? rEalm For the record, E-Loader 1.0 launches perfectly on my G4 Mac 450MHz, v9.2.2, OMS 2.3.8, Emagic AMT8 (USB MIDI Interface). Admittedly, I don't own a XL-7 and have only used E-Loader for OS updates to my P2k, but it works, and I can call up all the E-Loader utilities.

Howdy rEalm, I hope I'm not confusing the issue, but my experience is purely based around updating my P2k (Proteus 2000) using the "OS Downloader" component of E-Loader. It's simply a matter of selecting the OS file, selecting the target synth, and hitting the 'download' button. Perhaps E-Loader's functionality differs with the XL-7/MP-7, however seeing the application was built for these models, I'd be surprised to hear it doesn't at least offer the same OS update capability I've already seen with my P2k. I'm dork, never mind, I was thinking about how we can't use the USB
functionality of E-Loader for OS updates. It's early and the coffee
machine is broken here, what can I say? :)

Hey is this weekend still on in Chi. Sept 28 I haven't heard anything in a while. Just curious? maTT

I sent an email out to everyone a couple of weeks ago about this, didn't you get it? Hmm, if not, here's the recap: As of right now I'm pretty sure it's off for a little while longer. I didn't really get that many responses back once we actually set a date, I think I got two 'for sures' and one 'maybe, but probably not'. After thinking about it, I feel it's probably better to wait and try and get at least 4-5 people to come, but it seemed like we had a lot of conflicting schedules for that weekend. People WANTED to come, but just couldn't do it then. Never fear though, this is definitely something I still very much want to do (meeting you peeps would be fun!), I just think the timing is bad right now. So, sorry if you didn't get my email, I was kinda surprised no one said anything earlier in fact, hope my work's email didn't screw up again, sigh... I'm thinking right now that November would be a bit better, since people said that October was bad too. I was thinking about possibly the second weekend in November, the 16th in particular. So if anyone in the Chicago area still wants to get together, hit me back privately for details and we'll try setting this up this again. Don't forget we'll have some free EMu goodies, courtesy of the techs on this board too! rEalm Hey is this weekend still on in Chi. Sept 28 I haven't heard anything in a while. Just curious? maTT

Well, if anyone else jumps in at the last minute, I'm still down, and that would be 2 peeplez here, since I was hoping to bring my cohort in musikal madness as well...mid october through november is pretty bad for me, my first born son is due to 'emerge' from the darkness (expected date is Halloween, hehehe)...so I think it's safe to say that I'll have my hands quite full! Hopefully the 16th, though I can change it if more people say that's bad.

It's actually in Libertyville, about 45 minutes north of the city. I live
all of 30 seconds from a Metra station though, so taking the train is
really easy if that helps.
