The Pure Phatt ROM is different from the MP-7 ROM. Most of the
multisamples and instruments were used, but the layout as you
discovered, is different. I have an XL-1 w/ Pure Phatt ROM(exactly
the same as the Mo'Phatt module)installed so my application is
different than yours and my P2K has the TSCY ROM and soon to be Beat
Garden ROM by Rob Papen as soon as the release date is set. The most
notable difference on the ROM that you installed is the BEATs to
Pattern mode change. Since the MP-7 Command Station has a sequencer,
the rom for that device uses the pattern mode, the Mo-Phatt does not
have a sequencer, so you just have the BEATs mode which uses 1
pattern w/ 16 parts where as the **-7's use pattern mode which are
multiple patterns assigned to different tracks.
If you check E-mu's site, they are offering XL-1 and Mo'Phatt sounds
for free download for the respective Command Stations. They said it
was easier to convert the presets from the Modules to the Command
Stations than the other way around.
Maybe they will release the Command Station ROM's just like any other
expansion ROM.......or check with E-MU to see if the conversions
(links below)that they just posted, are usable with the ROM that you
have.
