Beginner tip

I just got my XL7 a little more than a week ago and i've been struggling to understand exactly what the purpose of multisetups are. It didn't make sense to me that you could save a multisetup on it's own with all the mix send outputs defined and the FX defined, and you can save all this information in a pattern as well. Well, it took me a few tries mucking about with patterns before i discovered that MIX SEND OUTPUTS defined in the global menu are only saved in your pattern when that channel actually has some sort of data in it. I'd been seeing my carefully layed out multisetups disappear when changing to a factory pattern. Also, i've got a Roland Sp-303 sampler/effects processor on midi output B/Send2. If you plan on using any outboard FX processing, remember that any FX that you apply to Send2 (or send3) in the global menu STILL GET SENT to the main outputs. It cuts the dry signal out of the main outs, but leaves any wet signal. In other words, you lose an FX send if you want a truly dry signal going out the submix ports. Kinda sucks, but i can deal. If anything i hope this helps out a beginner or two like me... ;) EMU ROCKS sapo
