Hehe, I thought about that too, but it's still good for me to have the 
letters on for those ummm...drunk and dark club nights :)  While the 
letters aren't neccesary, it's nice to make it look professional still, 
and not like a hack paint job.  Or you could use blacklight sensitive 
paint that only light up under a black light, and swap out the bulb in the 
12v light with one of those!

I don't know why you seasoned XL/MP hackers need the lettering at all. How 
long would it take to memorize the control functions on the front panel? 
Once that's done, you could have a unit that's just ... black.

This was actually the original idea that caused us to put the 12v lamp 
on there.  At one point we were looking into blacklight active paint...

If someone ends up doing this, send us a photo, we'd love to see it!
