[XL-7] & Proteus expansion sound ROM's

2001-09-24 by kudos

Hi Emu Product users,
my neighbour has a Proteus 2000 with 3 sound ROM's. I'm planning on purchasing different sound ROM's to his for the XL-7...Q.a) Is it possible for us to swap our ROM cards between the Proteus and XL-7.
b) Does the XL-7 take advantage of these sound ROM's with extra Presets/effects etc due to it being a XL-7 or will the Presets and names be different.
thanks everyone

Yes, it is.

The Presets will sound the same and the names are exact. The only
difference you will encounter is, the Proteus ROMS patch Cord setups are
designed around the P2k knob layout. The Xl-7 knob layout, in addition
of having more, is laid slightly different. Thus, when using Quick EDIT
from your XL-7 on a Proteus ROM Preset, the name of Xl-7 knob will not
always correspond with the ROM you are playing (it will still edit, it
just maybe something different that the knob is saying). The most
important knobs Filter Cutoff, Q and AMP attack are always located in
the same location. Hopefully I didn't confuse to much. Bottom line, all
Proteus ROMS will play perfectly in the XL or MP-7.
