I love these new Toyz

I'm new to this Group, but Glad to see others out there playing these
new boxes. I own both the XL7 and MP7. I wouldn't part with them. I
like the sounds far better than any stuff Roland, Korg, or Yamaha
has, and I find it pretty easy to play with. I'd say my vote goes to
E-MU for making the coolest digital stuff out there in sequencers.
With a few expansions, You're rockin' hard.

I find these new machines really vast. I use mine in tandem with the
Future-Retro 777 and the JoMoX XBase09, and the new SunSyn, using
either the MP7 or XL7 as a controller. Very Phatt. I think it's a
perfect blend of digital and analogue.

The step-programming is very cool once You get a vibe for it. The
grid is like the step-progamming in analogue units. Good for beatz
and some bass lines and noises. I'd say with the E-Mu step thing, You
have to slow down and do some playing and experimenting. It's very
intuitive once You get the hang. Can't say enough for the
arpeggiation. It's the coolest anywhere.

I discovered that You can get so thick with sounds, it's just
unbearable, with all the polyphony. Truly sick.

I think E-Mu has taken a cool step into the future with these units.
They can be very intimidating, I agree. Vast and deep. Fun, too.
