How do I install those roms?

How do I install those roms?

2002-04-14 by nifflas

Yay!

I've bought two roms (Sounds of the ZR and Beat Garden) for the XL-7.
Now I need to know: How do I install them?

I've not got them yet. Perhaps there's a manual which will tell me
how... Or will I void the warranty by open the XL-7?

Perhaps I should send the XL-7 to the local music store and let them
put the roms in the XL-7?

What do you think I should do?

Nifflas,

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/files/rominstalldoc.pdf

Refer to the picture only in the .pdf for reference, the instructions
are actually for an Audity but it's the only one posted that I could
find.

I found this in the archives too.........

It's easy. Just unscrew the bottom from the MP-7, and you'll see the
baord with the 3 free slots, and another one of them is already taken
up by your MP-7 sound rom. Just snap the new one in the same way as
the MP-7 is, if the Roms are like most, they only fit in one way, so
you can't mess it up :) Put the bottom back on and you're done! Oh
yeah, and obviously don't leave it plugged in while you do all
this :)

ARGH! NO NO NO! (How do I install those roms?)

2002-04-16 by nifflas

Thanks for the info

but now I also got that terrible headphone hum - and with this hum,
the XL-7 is completley useless to me. Sounds and acts like a
grounding problem. (I know it's not a software problem or a stuck
note)

And btw, it's still there even without an additional rom.

You can get a hum in the headphones if the top part of the XL-7 is not
securely screwed to the bottom part of the chassis. Maybe you thought you
could get away with only re-installing one or two of the screws after
installing the new ROM? Not!

Uh, I'm embarrased.

Now all screws are there and it's working =)
