Other OS Wishes

Other OS Wishes

2002-04-10 by kinslow32333

Maybe it's just me but I find it annoying that when I use the erase
button to take out a flubbed note(s), I can still here the sound as
it's being erased. Most drum machines mute the sound so you can tell
it's being erased. This is really bad when it's a bass or other
sustaining sound. Anybody feel me on this one.

Also, when I select a certain velocity for the pads to record say a
drum track, when I change the velocity to record another softer part
on another track, the velocity of the first track changes also. this
should not happen. Pad velocity should be independent for each track
(sound) or what's the point?

Hmm. I don''t hear it. I only hear the note when I press it to start erasing.

I think that's what Lewis is referring to: the sound
triggers when you hit it in erase mode. I've found
this somewhat annoying as well, especially as he
mentioned, when the sound has a long decay.

It also kind of breaks your train of thought if you
don't take care to hit the note in rhythm with your
sequence playing back!

On drum machines I've used, once you go into "erase"
or "clear" mode, the pads/notes intended for erasure
do not trigger when you select them.

While we're on the subject of erasing, it would also
be great to have a simpler, more immediate way to
"undo" the most recent recording.

My two cents here is this. If the keys didn't make sound when you
hit them in order to erase info it would be alot more usefull in a
live situation.

same thing when selecting notes in grid edit mode.

If they didn't make a sound when in Grid mode, how would you know what
sounds you are sequencing?

I hear ya rEalm.

Maby if there where a way to turn the option on and off.

with some kits I already know how they are mapped out. Like when i
am using the 808 and 909 so during a live proformance i would be ok
but when sitting at home looking for sounds it would be kinda
anoying.

so maby a on and off switch for previewing sounds in grid record
mode would be cool.
