I would say that the relative lack of comments on the new OS is a good sign. Personally I think the new OS rocks, and makes the XL-7 95% complete now (always gotta leave room for more). Who wants to start a "new features we want now" thread? :) rEalm (proper RPS and Megamixing would be cool) (one of the reasons i haven't been able to check out the new os yet... by the way... is everybody happy now?... not much people commented on it...)

That's not right, it shouldn't be doing that. Mine is always the same multisetup when I power back on. rEalm Me! Please, please, please, can somebody add a feature that reloads the last multisetup used when the box was last turned off. Every day, the first thing i have to do with my xl-7 is turn it on, then manually reload the last multi.

Doh! I feel really silly now! For some reason i didn't think that it did... i'll check tonight just in case it's all a big conspiracy to make me look stupid. ; That must be the quickest bug-fix in history ;)

Hi guys, i just tried the multisetup re-load thing last night, and i'm quite sure it isn't working. This is what i did:
1. Turn on the XL-7 and load one of my multi's
2. Change some of the channel/preset assignments
3. Save my multi.
4. Sequence some beats using my PC, and they all come out correct.
5. Save again for good measure.
6. Turn off the XL-7, and then turn back on.
7. Play my sequence off my PC
8. The beats are now playing the wrong drum sounds
9. Restore my Multi from the Global menu
10. Play the sequence again and all is fine.
So, is this what should be happening or not?? Is it because when i start up the box it always goes to Song 000 and therefore loads the correct multi setup for that song??? It's annoying because i never really use the sequencer stuff on the XL-7, i just use it mainly as a sound module, so i'm only interested in the multi setups and not the song stuff.
john.

Ok got a couple of questions for you. Main one being are you selecting the pattern that you saved the multisetup to? you will always have to do this, if this is the case it is not hard to do. If you want it to default to one multisetup each time just save the multisetup that you want it to be when you turn it on to the first pattern. hope that helps. mike > So, is this what should be happening or not?? Sound fine to me. Actually that's what Multi's are for, so you're using them correctly. rEalm 1. Turn on the XL-7 and load one of my multi's 2. Change some of the channel/preset assignments 3. They are totally unrelated to songs. A multi is a snapshopt fo all the settings in your XL-7 at the time that you save the Multi. This includes all preset, volume, pan, and effects. If you want your XL-7 to power on wioth the same settings everytime based on a particular song, select your song, then play it so that the presets and effects all load. After a second, stop playback, then resave the current multi. When you power off,t he box should power back up with the multi you just saved. If not, just reload it, it only takes 2 seconds. rEalm I think what was confusing me was i was treating multi's as being completely unlinked to songs. john.

John, This is what I believe you should do for your setup and its very simple. Copy an empty Pattern into Pattern 000. What's happening is, the Multi is loading correctly, but Pattern 000, Arctic Drift is then loading a sub set of Multi features to support the pattern. With an empty pattern in location 000, your loaded Multi will be untouched. sean at e-mu / ensoniq

When your beats are playing wrong, it is playing from a default multi
that loads at Poweron, since it fires up in pattern mode. The XL7 is
acting correctly. I sometimes use the box the same way. You are doing
everything correctly. Just save your multisetup and when you power up
your computer and your XL7 everytime you start sequencing, load that
multisetup you have saved. I find it works easiest if whatever sequence
I am working on on my computer using the XL-7, I always save that
multisetup as multisetup 00 and I always call it new song or something
like that. Easy way to keep track of things. Then you just have to load
that up when you are powering everything on and you are ready to go!
