Realtime Program Change

Hi!

Maybe a stupid question but I didn't find any information about this: how can I send Program Change to an external channel in realtime? I set the channel to EXT, but I found opportunity only to send preprogrammed PC message from the sequence, not for realtime step increase or decrease.

So far as I know, unlike E-Mu samplers, you cannot use the big knob [aka encoder] to send program changes externally. I have a P2500 and the way I send program changes to it is from an external device. I don't think the Command Stations have a way to send them. I believe that, like on the P2500, the big knob just changes the preset internally, or records it onto a track, on a channel-by-channel basis.

Years ago, I played around with a 1 beat pattern that in record mode would echo out program changes, but since it tied up the sequencer just to do that, I had no use for it.

Maybe someone else has a way to do what you want.
