It's not meant as spam (I am not the one selling those items), it was advice
on where to get a replacement LCD. Geez, trigger finger shoots the messenger. I
misread your request, but maybe others who ARE looking for an LCD replacement
can use the info I provided. I noticed the pinouts on these EMU screens are 14
pins. Newer LCDs that are 2x24 commonly have 16 pins now, so pinouts may vary. A
service manual would help there.
As to the LED's- any 3v to 5v LED should
work fine as a replacement. You can even choose a different color. I've replaced
LED's in several synths. You mostly just want to match the diameter of the LED
so it fits the hole and seating arrangement, and the depth of the LED is close
to the original it will be fine. And if it supports up to 3 to 5 volts, it
should be a non-issue. LED's are super cheap any available even at Radio Shack
(albeit limited selection and overpriced there). A Digital Micrometer is helpful
to accurately measure the LED diameter and dimensions.
I too would like a
copy of the service manual for the Command Stations and other EMU synths. If you
can find one please share it with the group in the files section. That would
likely help a lot of folks on here having any issues.

I have a hard copy of the E4 series technical manuals including the EIV, e64, E4K, E4X, e6400, Esynth rack, E-Synth Keyboard, and EOS Ultra series. Also included are the option board schematics. THe whole thing is several hundred A3 pages in a ring binder (with some A4 for the technical descriptions). I've not seen a P2K or command station technical manual.Since the Ultra series could use and P2k series ROMs I would think that the schematics have a fair bit of overlap though they would not be identical by any means. There are 24 pages for the E4 ultra rack 2 main board which is drawing SK10485. I guess if I look into my E4XT or E5000 that number should appear on the motherboard somewhere. The differences for the PX-7/XL-7/MP-7 is that they use a different processor to the P2k and E4 ultra series (a CF5307 compared with a CF5206) and with the newer processor there were other changes because it was 3.3 volts (instead of 5 volts) and so all of the support components were changed. Also the CF5307 supports SDRAM so there is an SDRAM chip soldered onto the motherboard for command stations rather than the DRAM SIMM that the others use. Finally the FLASH memory for the OS on an Ultra is on a SIMM whereas both the P2k and command stations have that soldered on the motherboard. So the schematics I have are close to the P2K and related to the command stations.

Are these scans or paper?

I'm sorry, my rudeness was totally uncalled for, just meant to be funny, failed pretty miserably at that... Thanks for your suggestion, but I'm not looking for an LCD.
Anyway, what I'm looking for is exactly what LEDs are used in the buttons, and also what driver chips are used for the single and double color LEDs. They are tiny SOT-23 devices only marked 5DI (where the "i" looks more like 1 in roman numerals or like an "H" flipped 90 degrees) and "2CBU". Actually I'm not sure it's SOT-23, but some kind of surface mount package like that. My guess is that these are single and double switching transistors, but I can't find the specs.
If I had the schematics, I would try to figure out if there is a simple way to connect a dimming circuit to the panel LEDs.

Awesome you have such a doc. You are blessed with it. How did you obtain it? I'm not even going to ask what it would cost time wise (or monetarily) to reproduce electronically as that really isn't feasible. Maybe images of some of the schematics would be helpful though. It would require a high resolution scan or photograph to capture the details. I too am interested in the Command Stations, ROMS, and the E6400 Ultra schematics.
