I'm fairly new at this machine (MP7) and a little confused with beats mode but I seem to find zero presets under 'bts'. I have a composer ROM installed as well as MP7 and see no presets for bts with either one. Do you need to create bts presets? Somewhere to download them? Have new os installed and anxious to try this out but getting nowhere fast.

The MP-7 has the same ROM (#9062 Pure Phatt)from the Mo' Phatt module which had BTS but they(E-MU)changed the ROM ID for the MP-7 which changed all of the BTS presets to kit presets on the Command Stations. If you were to get the X-Lead ROM or any other ROM that is sold separately, they(BTS) will now be available in your unit. I'm getting more annoyed each passing minute with this 0 bts presets business with the mp7 I find it incredible emu would release an OS in which 3/4 of it deals with this "update" and seemingly forgets that 1/2 the machines it was targeted for do not have ANY BTS presets! No where to get them without buying another ROM?? If I'm wrong about how this is (or appears to be) they should , at the very least, provide the MP7 owners clear direction as to how and where to get what is needed so as to be able to utilize this feature. How about a little sign "MP7 owners need not apply" Think I'll reload OS 1.1, at least then I was blissfully unaware...

If you download the Mo'phatt banks from the emu site, you will have bts presets, not too many presets to start with, but a good number of bts riffs. The new bts audition riffs are found at the end of the standard mp-7 audition riffs (after kits-). if you do get other roms (world), you can mix and match bts presets and riffs for some great results !! -payntaraspen --- In xl7@y..., "Jonathan El-Bizri" <sserendipity@n...> wrote: > Have you downloaded the Mo'Phatt presets from the emu site? > > I have not tried this myself, but I would assume that they can access the beats presets. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: heyrag@n... > To: xl7@y... > Sent: Monday, April 08, 2002 4:37 PM > Subject: Re: [xl7] bts mode where?? > > > I'm getting more annoyed each passing minute with this 0 bts presets > business with the mp7 I find it incredible emu would release an OS in which > 3/4 of it deals with this "update" and seemingly forgets that 1/2 the > machines it was targeted for do not have ANY BTS presets! I find it incredible emu would release an OS in which 3/4 of it deals with this "update" and seemingly forgets that 1/2 the machines it was targeted for do not have ANY BTS presets! >>>For clarification, BTS are not Presets, they are Audition Riffs! The new OS contains quiet a few BTS patterns for you to use with ANY Preset. You do not need special BTS Presets in order to use the BTS mode, although admittedly some of them 'might' sound better, I have no idea. Have you read the new FAQ? I've put a whoel section in there on BTS, read that first and if you still have questions I'll be more than happy to help! <<< rEalm

I have to agree with you, I know that alot of people where asking about them anb wanted to see em but I don't see myself putting them to much if any use. The as rEalm has said "they are Audition Riffs!" and that is how i will use em. This realy gets my goat due to the fact that it seems that when I have a pattern with a combination of 1. a preset with a very short decay and release time. 2. a program change. The presets with short decay get a longer decay for a second when i press the home/enter button. This in some cases is the leed sound and all the hi hats that i am using to drive the track i am wrighting making it unrecordable for selling it! i posted a little wile ago about this and got no responce from the the guys at E-MU. The hole thing is verry dissapointing. They assured me that this would not be a problem in this OS and it is the first thing i checked out and it still is not resolved. mike --- In xl7@y..., erik_magrini@B... wrote: > I find it incredible emu would release an OS in which 3/4 of it deals with > this "update" and seemingly forgets that 1/2 the machines it was targeted > for do not have ANY BTS presets! > > >>>For clarification, BTS are not Presets, they are Audition Riffs! You are talking about program changes between presets on a channel, no? You play a sound but only for a second, change sounds with a program change then play a couple of sounds then change again? Is this right?

Well what I am usaly doing is making a modified version of a preset that starts at the begining of the next pattern. so i can twek away to my hearts content and when i go to that new pattern all is where the next section of the song should be. Think that makes sence. changing presets usaly only at the begining of patterns. Are you using OS 1.31? That should have been fixed in the new OS...
