XL-1 ROM weirdness & question about factory patterns & songs

2015-03-30 by eidorian@...

A friend of mine has an XL-7, and I have a PX-7. We both have ROMs
that are marked "XL-1" (Xtreme Lead) with commercially printed sticky
labels, but in his XL-7 (which has no other ROMs) the list of patches do
not match those in my PX-7 listed under "XL-1". They're completely
different - the names of patches are not the same. Does anyone have any
suggestions/guesses what might be going on here? Maybe the "XL-1" in
his unit is really a mislabelled "XL-7".

Next time I visit him I'll check the numbers on the chips on the ROMs
and refer to the that .doc file I just posted and see what else that
tells me.

On a similar vein, where do the factory patterns and songs in the
control stations reside? Are they on the voice ROMs, or somewhere else
(RAM?) When happens if the factory-included ROM is missing from a
control station?

Thanks,
A.

Nobody is picking up this question, so I'll just refer to you the link I posted earlier from ebay:  http://tinyurl.com/q3n2bab   read the section on the XL-1 ROM

The songs and patterns are not stored on the ROM, so if you lost them you have to download them from the web, in this group's file section
