new os crashes

new os crashes

2002-04-06 by Alexander Rüsberg

my xl-7 just crashed for the first time.

i was switching from song mode to pattern mode during play, because i wanted
the actual step to play in a loop. the step was played in a loop, but the
track mutes were totally different from the one in the song and the one in
the pattern. this was the first strange thing.
when i switched back to song mode the machines crashes !!!!! the sounds stop
playing, the play led is still on, but the xl freezes. the only way to bring
it back to life was to switch it off with the backside switch , wait a few
seconds and power it up again. luckily all my data is still there.
i\ufffdve been able to reproduce the crash several times, so i think i found a
bug :-(

did anyone of you ever encountered something like this ?

anyway i like the new os.

Alexander,
Ive recently purchased an XL-7 unit, and ive encountered the same
problem.
After reporting it to the technical help at the shop, ive returned
the defected unit and received a unit from display (while they order
me a new unit).
The unit from display suffers from the same problem.

This isnt the performance i expect from such machine which suppose to
be a 'live' instrument!
