Thanks! What I mean is: while edit buffer editing does not work (on
command stations and p2500 models), it should work based on the
information that I have access to (as per specification, prodatum does
the correct thing).

So, as a conclusion, if we expect any advice from the ex e-mu people then this is the end...

So sorry for this, a lot of people like me have command stations and for us prodatum is just a dream...

Ps: did you tried to contact the guy who made "Proteum" editor, it is just for windows version BUT it is working for me sometimes, including the arpegiator editor with midi import (on v 2.0 XL7)

The only thing is that I need to try many times to succed and also to accept a windows emulator in my osx.

So you both should be in contact and put all the info together to acomplish a perfect editor!

I contacted him (today, no response as of now). If Proteum uses the edit
buffer then Keith should be able to help.

Great!

I am positive you'll do it!

Now you have a command station you need also a good editor for it :)

For sure a lot of generous cs owners will take care of your work also.

Best,

George

By the way, the last sysex manual is not 100% complete or accurate, as I assume you may have found. Also, not sure if you use sysex remote control mode, but IIRC, only knobs A/B/C/D seem to be implemented [Command Station OS 2.0] E/F/G/H, I/J/K/L, and M/N/O/P do not seem to be implemented.

Sample Remote Control and MIDI output from knobs A and E on the P2500:

Knob A:
12 bytes: f0 18 0f 00 55 40 22 11 00 1c 00 f7 : Sysex
3 bytes: b0 4a 1c : Control
12 bytes: f0 18 0f 00 55 40 22 11 00 1b 00 f7 : Sysex

I have tested older OSes, but only so far as to verify that e-loader works to update and revert OSes on various computers,.and to document the process that should be happening-as a diagnoztic tool for those who say they can't do it.

As for former E-Mu employees, I have no contacts for you. However, if you have some specific questions, perhaps we can pull the answers from the archives here. Also, members with knowledge of the CS/P2500 might have some leads on possible answers and ways to test the inner workings.

I suppose in a few weeks, if you come up with a list of tests, or questions, I can test whichever version of Prodatum you want (current or a special test version) with different OSes--if I can find them.

Steve, no worries, its working now. the 2.0 OS adds some nice features (anyone knows of any bugs btw?) and I think its OK if its the only OS working with prodatum (though i bet that prodatum works just fine with older OSs). Peace

Re: [xl7] Someone sent me an MP-7 to fix/improve prodatum

Well, I downloaded 2.0.1 and played with it for about 5 minutes.  It didn't lock up!!!!! Hoo-ray!!! Definitely an improvement I over versions I tested since 0.38 or 0.41. (I think those are the versions that last worked on the P2500.) I will have to make more time to play with it.

There was one oddity--when I first unzipped and started 2.0.1, Prodatum seems to have changed my configuration. Fortunately I had saved it a few weeks ago, so I was able to restore it. This only seemed to happen the first time I started 2.0.1.

So my recommendation to others is to save your current configuration before test driving Prodatum unless you want to risk losing your configuration.  But by all mean, test drive the "New and Improved" Prodatum!

Thanks for the command station/P2500 support!  (And maybe now you will add M/N/O/P sliders.)
