Anyone have the SYSEX for the XL7 synth section??

Anyone have the SYSEX for the XL7 synth section??

2014-05-04 by <bassmeister3000@...>

I've been trying to get Prodatum to work, but the synth portion does nothing.  Trying to change sample or layers or volumes or patch cords doesn't work.  Prodatum was made using the Proteus 2000 as it's test bed, the person who wrote it doesn't have a command station.  If I remember correctly though, they aren't really %100 compatible.  Anyone have a list of the actual sysex needed for the command stations?

Thanks

Andre

Well, I did a bit of testing on Podatum using a P2500 which uses the same OS as Command Stations. I am not sure if my feedback was sent in private e-mails or posted here, but you could try searching the archives. I believe others have written a bit about Prodatum here and in the P2K group.

There is a sysex manual (pdf) that should get you started. There are also discussions here and in the P2K group. There are a few members in each group that have done stuff with sysex, so feel free to ask specific questions about what you want to do.

You might also want to try Proteum, if you haven't done so already.

I know someone else mentioned Prodatum not working with with Command Stations (maybe it was you). I know I have had versions working with the P2500, but I also recall that one time I had the issue that I could not edit things. I tried looking for my comments on that but I couldn't find them. As I recall, the bottom line is that I had to do something very specific in order to get the editing to work, and unless I did that, I could not edit patches--or perhaps it was that I could not save my edits.  I will try again to find that thread.

As for testing the latest version of Prodatum, once I start something, I tend to really get into it--as in testing a whole bunch of things to make something happen. Right now, I don't have the time.

Ok, that's helpful.

After talking with the guy from Prodatum, he believes there is a setting I need to change to allow the editing, but for the life of me I've been through all the global menu's and I don't know what it could be.  Or perhaps I'm going about this all wrong, can you make changes to the presets without saving them to a new patch?
