Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hi

I get on XL-7's  LCD " preset (not installed) ", everytime I run my software
sequencer with a preset from a ROM board, which I  ADDED to XL-7.

XL-7 completely recognize that board, but the preset jumps out everytime I
run my software sequencer.
Does anybody know what's the deal with it?

Are using a Xl-1 environment, profile or preset list in your software sequencer?
What's happening is, your sequencer is sending bank selects that is are
not valid in the Xl-7. I ask if you are using the Xl-1 preset list
because, the Xl-1 has a different ID (MSB) than the XL-7. Though it may
seem like good idea, it will create this problem. The Xl-7 Rom Banks
are, MSB 14, LSB 0-3. User banks are always the same on all E-MU gear,
MSB 0, LSB 0-xx. Make sure you are sending the right MSB command for you
ROM as well. Pressing the Preset View Button and then Audition will give
you this information.

Hi Sean

I created my own multisetup for XL7 in the logic environment. I'm not using XL-1 envoronment.
The default for XL7 is MSB 000, LSB 0 .............for my ROM module it shows MSB 009 LSB �3.
I tried to modify my multiinstrument, which contains both XL7 and other ROM module. But the changes affect both ROM modules. i suppose I have to create another Multiinstrument, dedicated to the extra ROM module and then modify this.
