Stuck or "stubborn" track buttons

Stuck or "stubborn" track buttons

2014-02-19 by Bruno

Hi group,

every now and then this topic pops up, and there were different theories and suggestions, however I don't recall a working - as in proved in the rea life - solution...

So, what to do when some of your track switches - or other buttons - start to get stuck? Contact cleaner in spray, which sometimes saves our data dials? Replacements? Blood offerings? Anyone tried something and succeeded?

Please speak out - ethernal glory awaits!

Bruno

Replace the board from epr, then solder out the broken switches on the old board and replace the switches from epr then you have a backup board for when they go bad again in the future

For what it costs for just one of the replacement boards ($175 including shipping) it might be better to use sysex control mode with another midi device to trigger the defective buttons and to then try to find another CS for spare parts.

I perform a lot live with mine so maybe I'm in a unique situation but I need to be able to have it all working and if it breaks day before a gig I need to be able to replace immediately
