Has any figured out the new Yahoo! Groups User Interface?

Has any figured out the new Yahoo! Groups User Interface?

I am trying to find my way around the new interface and haven't found:
(1) How to search the archives
(2) How to display the messages hierarchically (by topic/thread)

Can anyone tell me?

Also, has anyone found any benefits to the new interface?

I found it:

1. You need to have "Conversations" selected.
2. Type the word(s) you are looking for in the rectangular box to the left of the "Search Groups" and "Search Web" buttons.
3. Press "Search Groups."
4. Once you get your results, there will be an "Advanced Search" button.

For example, I know I participated in a discussion of E-Mu's remote sysex commands. So, first I searched for "steve_the_composer." Then, I moved that into the author field and searched for "remote sysex."

Phew.

Haha, I always *knew* there's a good reason for keepin my own archive on Gmail :-)

Apart from this, the counter-intuitive way just works: on the top of the page you can "Search Groups". I know, it's misleading, but once you do it, you will get a result window with "Conversations" (those are the threads in current group) and "Groups" - those will be the groups with the search term in their description.

I hope I am wrong, but it looks like we can only search by message number:

"Tip: If you know the specific message number, you can search for it by clicking the Search Messages icon on the "Messages" page."

Unfortunately, while I have a fairly good record of being able to search the archives using key words in the messages to find previous discussions of problems and solutions, I do organize my memory by message numbers.

I sincerely hope Yahoo! hasn't totally removed the ability to search messages.  I do hope someone can find out where this feature has been placed in the new setup.  Thanks.
