The random note on can sometimes be caused by power supply issues. If the capacitors start leaking, you can suffer corrosion on the pad pcb, so it's worth taking a peek. Pop the cage off the power supply & look for bulging electrolytic capacitors or evidence that they've leaked. Check the cage for corrosion. EPR usually stocks power supplies, or recapping it should bring it back in line.
