Changing note numbers for the pads

Changing note numbers for the pads

2012-07-02 by carpatium_xxl

Hi, I can't find this info in the manual. On the PX-7 is it possible to reassign pad note numbers so I can for example move ride cymbal to a different pad?

Thanks

You can't reassign pads, but you can transpose the instrument so the
sounds are played by different pads.
(You can't transpose individual sounds in a kit, only the whole thing)

Damn! Every other drum maschine does have this feature. So you are saying that I can't even put the basic kit sounds (kick, snare, toms, hat, ride and crash) within the pad's one octave range and play them in realtime? Is there some workaround at least?
Thanks!

With four layers per preset and ability to link three presets
together, you can make one-note layers with specific sounds and
arrange them as you wish across the keypads, so you can freely assign
sounds to 12 of 13 pads.

Hope this helps,

Bruno

Hi, do I have to start from scratch or can I just modify the existing preset kit that I like, just do the remapping and retain all the features of the kit like multisample velocity switching?

Thanks

Sure, you can start with an existing kit you like, and later use "Copy
layer" function to aggregate other kits into one preset.

If velocity switched multisamples are just part of a raw instrument,
then you cannot lose that feature. If the velocity switch is achieved
thru layering, then you can retain it, for the price of having one
layer less to use for remapping.
