Oh well!

Oh well!

2002-03-28 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

I'm outta here until Monday, so no new OS for me (which is about way the
way the rest of my B-day plans are going at the moment)! Hope you guys
enjoy it if they get it posted before the weekend, have fun, make music,
see you all on Monday!

Happy B-day, REalm,
Hope you got real drunk and have a nice hangover by now. In fact this
is still better than checking Emus website for the new OS without
sucess ;-(((

Will they release it the first of April?????

I will be 43 in June. Uuumh - bad enough!
I have been doing hip hop and soul (grandmaster etc.) in the late
seventies in Germany when nobody even dreamed of this kind of music
in Germany except a few US soldiers in their clubs...

I turned 53 this month and remember giving concerts of
improvised sequencer grooves on analog modular synths
back in 1972 when I worked for Arp Instruments in
Boston. It's been an interesting ride since then, and
it's a grand time now for us electro-beat heads.

Jeeves, the kids must love you!!! Sequencer grooves on analog modular
in 1972...! I thought I was the eldest here.

I have a 7" Arp demo disk of yours. Maybe you could autograph it or something.

My first synth thing was also 1972 -- a high school buddy read the specs of
synth modules and whipped up versions himself, hooking the whole mess up to
a Lowry home organ* keyboard with paperclips as contacts. Hitting two keys
resulted in a note which was the addition of the frequencies of the two
notes you hit. I still have a reel of tape with a bit I recorded from that
setup.

But back to you ...

... I saw the "Ra" show, before it went bankrupt. For years afterward, we
joked about what a bad idea it was to take a drum kit underwater. Loved
the music, tho.

* Imagine a keyboard accordion set on its side and given air via a vacuum
cleaner motor.

I ended up playing at house party on the cheapest Gemini tables you can
buy, totally off my arse on RedBull vodka's. It was umm....interesting to
say the least.
