MIDI Sync not working with FLStudio

MIDI Sync not working with FLStudio

2012-02-23 by malikm

Hi,
I've recently dusted my gear off and started to play again.
I'm trying to get MIDI sync working.
I've set FLStudio to send sync to my MP7 have the following features set in the MP7:
MIDI:
Base Tempo: 160
Chained Patterns: Keep Constant Tempo
Rechannelize Input: Always(?)
Keyboard outputs MIDI: Transmit
Knobs Output MIDI: Transmit
Transmit MIDI Clock: Off
External Song Start/Stop: Accepted
Merge MIDI In to Out: A:Off B:Off
MIDI In Channels: 1-16:A
MIDI Enable:On on all channels
Receive Program Change: On on all channels
Program Change Preset 000bank0 I don't use this
SYSEX Device ID 1: doesn't really matter as far as i know FL doesnt deal with sysex
SYSEX packet delay: doesnt matter
SYSEX again, irrelevant
MIDI Mode: Multi Change: Accepted

Still when i start FL Studio it just JItters. until i unplug the midi input on my MP7
Could anyone help?
Thanks

Use FL as the master since the clock on the xl7 jitters by +- 2 bpm

Thanks for the reply.
Yep. I am sending master sync and as far as i know, having MP7 set as slave. Do my settings suggest something different?

Thanks

Re: MIDI Sync not working with FLStudio

if recording is enabled in FLstudio and I press play.
all you hear is the first beat of the metronome several times a seccond. the start and stop midi signals are repeatedly sent.
Here's FLStudio's debugger output:

(generic controller): FB Continue
Handled (first chance) Absolute 0%
(generic controller): FC Stop
Handled (first chance) Absolute 0%
(generic controller): FB Continue
Handled (first chance) Absolute 0%
(generic controller): FC Stop
Handled (first chance) Absolute 0%
(generic controller): FB Continue
Handled (first chance) Absolute 0%
(generic controller): FC Stop
Handled (first chance) Absolute 0%

this is what you see a million times over

OK i have just looked your settings more in depth,
First off set base tempo to 0 to get it to slave
see if that resolves your issue
