Patchcords voodoo

Patchcords voodoo

2011-11-13 by Bruno

Hi guys,

Today in my synth-related docs I found the Sostenuto tutorial for E-mu
synths (downloaded from P2K "Files" section some time ago), and I
discovered it's just a part of the bigger document, which is "Advanced
Applications Guide" for EmulatorX2/ProteusX2 software products. While
probably a bit more related to the extended (compared to the P2K
platform) architecture, it still contains a lot of useful knowledge
which can be applied to the elder, hardware-based, brethren - even to
the point of using it for Morpheus/UltraProteus, as it touches filter
Morphing and Function Generators.

Since 7.7 MB is probably more than we can upload, here's the link:

http://support.creative.com/manuals/download.aspx?nDownloadId=11704&prodName=EmulatorX2_ProteusX2%20Adv%20Apps%20Guide

Enjoy!

Bruno

Yes, that's the 'Application Guide' that came with Emulator X2 and X3. It's really more a series of tutorials. I am not sure the hardware and software patch cords are identical, but if not, there is definitely a huge amount of overlap.

I am a very happy owner of Emulator X3 that I got in the close out days for about 1/4 of what Creative was asking. I think it's probably the greatest piece of music software ever ruined by a company abandoning development and arrogant/ oblivious to the market.

BTW ... where did you find this WWW.CCFTP.com site? Just by googling for the 'X2 Application Guide?'

I crawled around a little through the directories by entering http://ccftp.com and saw a lot of interesting stuff. There is actually an EMU subdirectory with drivers for some equipment I don't recognize.

Will this patch cord recipe work on the Proteus 2500 too? If so, that would be amazing! I've been looking to be able to do this for a couple of years but could never work it out.
