While I support your freedom to try to sell your roms at whatever price you want to ask, I feel I would be remiss as a moderator if I didn't suggest that shoppers look around for ROMS. For months new/unused bank XL-7 ROMS were selling for $50. Over the past 3-4 years I don't remember ever seeing an XL-7 ROM selling for $275.

In fact at this moment, there are at least two 5-bank XK-6 ROMs with BIN prices of just under $85.

I thought deeply before posting this; I am aware that it might be controversial, but I am sorry--using this group to try to sell ROMs that are seriously over priced based on today's market concerns me.

Again, I support your right to try to sell them at whatever price you want to ask for them, but I am exercising my freedoms to let members know of other options and to share my observations about the market.

Re: [xl7] XL-7, Beat Garden and TSCY ROMs for Sale

2011-09-14 by Mibrilane

I don’t think $200 is necessarily over the going market value. A quick check of eBay’s Completed Items shows a TSCY selling for $202.50 + $9.99 shipping. TSCY, Vintage Collection, Protean Drums, Beat Garden, and especially World Expedition are all regularly sold on eBay for $200+, as far as I’ve seen.

XL-x, MP-x, and Composer ROMs seem to be the cheapest, often going for less than $100. I too have never seen an XL-7 ROM for $275, but I believe the XL-7 mentioned below is the actual instrument, not just the ROM.

Just my $0.02.

I would purchase tscy in a second if it was $150. Or even $175 I could justify.
I paid 185 for world expedition about a year ago and I don';t feel it was really worth the high market value. Although beat garden was defintey worth $100 I paid at epr. I bought xl7 rom for $50 from epr. And I bought my px-7 with rom for $250 used at dj world of stereo in SF.

$275 is for the entire XL-7 not just the ROM.

Funny you mentioned the world ROM as I kept that one to use in an Orbit 3 chassis.

$600 is for an XL-7, with the XL, BG, and TSCY ROMs.

Re: XL-7, Beat Garden and TSCY ROMs for Sale

2011-09-14 by steve_the_composer

Thanks for clarifying that. I apologize for my error in misreading it. $275 for a fully functioning XL-7 (with ROM) is better than $275 for just the XL-7 ROM.

I think it is good that people chimed in on the recent rates for the ROMS. Of course fair market value fluctuates. I seem to recall the World ROM commanded a premium for years. When others were going in the $185 to $250 range, it seems like the World ROM was going for $285 to $385.

I wish I could have gotten it for this price... but with shipping to
EU + Dutch taxes it would probably reach 300€ I paid for my MP-7.

I remember astonishing price tag of Holy Grail Piano, not sure how
does it look now?
