Hi all. In grid mode, is it possible to set the note resolution (so knobs can be used to set the note duration or gate percentage- according to that note resolution)?

It gets kind of complicated, but you can change the resolution of your grid recordings... mixing and matching them, but I don't think you can control the durations with any of the knobs... and the gate only applies to the arpeggiator. You might also try recording in step mode... it makes working with different durations quite a bit easier than grid mode. Grid mode works well for programming beats, and rhythmic things like that... it's not really intended for melodic parts with varying note durations.

When you're in grid mode, the Track Enable/Mute button above the 16 "grid" buttons is used to select between the 4 different resolutions available. 16th, 32nd, and 8th triplets, 16th triplets. The display still only has room for 16 positions, so if you're using a resolution other than 16th, you'll have to manually advance the cursor to the next screen to see the available positions in that measure beyond what would be numbered 16.To: xl7@yahoogroups.com

In Grid Recording Mode if you push the Controller Function Select (Quick Edit / Program / Volume / Pan) button you can switch between volume or gate for each note. The thing is, that gate is a percentage of a (fixed?) sixteenth note (from what I can hear). My point is: is it possible to set a whole note, or half note, instead of a sixteenth note? In other words: In Grid mode, can I set the duration of the notes longer that 1/16? --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Andrew <Alan_mansfield@...> wrote: > > > When you're in grid mode, the Track Enable/Mute button above the 16 "grid" buttons is used to select between the 4 different resolutions available. 16th, 32nd, and 8th triplets, 16th triplets.
