Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hi guys,

Recently my MP7 crashed - in a sense it stopped to react to whatever I
was doing on panel, while still playing what it was supposed to play.
Soft power off didn't work, so I switched it off and then on again,
and then it worked flawlessly. However today it did the same, except
it didn't power on correctly. If I remember correctly, it was
starting, showing the three dots, then I was able to hear a short
"bzzp", the cursor was an underscore blinking, all the LEDs were lit -
and it stayed in this state.

I said "if I remember correctly", because when I wanted to look at it
again to write down everything, it went up just OK. Any ideas what it
can be?

A hint: my Volume potentiometer is broken, so it only works in two
states: 0 and MAX (anything between 0 & MAX yields MAX). Can it be the
reason?

Power supply inside is on it's way out. They are very hard to find for a replacement.  If you are good with soldering iron replace all the capacitors inside power supply YOU MUST BE GOOD WITH ELECTRONICS AS MESSING WITH POWER SUPPLYS CAN BE FATTAL?
