New OS?  Friday's my B-day, that would be a lovely present!

(If i could bend your ear for a moment..any info. on the version 1 
and version 2 roms, whats the difference? Are all the ones u buy 
today v/2? because I just got the mp-7 and it came loaded with v.1 !!)

...and where do u play in Chicago, I am from there, and will be back 
at the end of April (22-29), would love to check out a show...
(I remember the ol' days playin the Elbo Room, Double door, Holiday 
Club...)

No idea on the roms, sorry.  How did you figure this out, just by opening 
the unit up?

I'm from Libertyville actually, but I've played at Rapture, Crobar (in the 
mezz), and RedNo5.  I was supposed to be playing at Rive Gauche in April 
too, but they just stopped doing the breaks night there. :(  Working on 
something right now with Vision (used to be Aura, used to be Dome Room) 
though.  PLus all the underground parties :)

I got my rom version info from a tip in the p2k group...
goto Preset bank 3, slot 127
mine says v.1.0, but I've read about users who have v.2 ?!
(I bought this xx-7 last month !!)

RE:Chicago - I grew up in Northbrook and Highland Park !! small 
world, huh? I was in a ska band that started the Ska (SLAB) Thursdays 
at the CroBar!
I just loved all the Doll House girls coming over after hours !!!

Fingers crossed for new os/roms...I'll talk to you again before I 
come into town...

The current XL and MP-7 ROMS that ship with your Command Stations are
1.0 versions. There is not a version 2.0 for either ROM. Some of our
other ROMS do have higher revs., which may have started the confusion
when the person who started the tread most likely put a new ROM in their
machine and saw the new ROMS revision.

Hi,

somebody here mentioned EMU did not show up at the Frankfurt 
Musikmesse. True? This would be very strange!
Realm, didnt you say this should be because the Messe is regarded to 
be an european event - so not too important to EMU, may be?
Well, I allways believed, the Messe is the biggest international fair 
of the business, so EMU should have been there, no? Besidesu, Europe 
should be the most important export market for a traditional US 
Company like EMU. What is more, I still believe EMU is a Scottish 
Company, now? So why stay away from a european fair "in the 
neighbourhood"?
Once I worked with a german publisher. When things went bad, visiting 
fairs was on top of the red marker list. I hope EMU had other reasons 
to stay away. Actually I was interested to get some information on 
when a p2500 card will be available for the XX-7. Didn´t they 
announce in this group, it should be in t´he market pretty soon?

Another question to discuss:
About the XX-7 there is only little communication to be found on the 
web compared to - say - the RS 7000. Hardly any substantial User 
reviews on sonicstate or harmony-central since months. Instead you 
find people wanting to sell their EMU boxes. How do you think the XX-
7 sells right now? I do not want to bitch the command stations here, 
I am just curious if they support us with OS updates in the future. 
To do so there must be a substantial amount of sold units in the 
market, but I doubt there is - so I really rate EMUs user support 
very high because of all the information and customer care given 
here. 
(I still miss a new OS desperately!!!)HOW LONG?????
