Thanks for posting both the question and answer. If you look for it in the sysex manual, it might not be clear that this is what parameter 420 does--both 419 and 420 are labelled MIDI_USE_B_CHANS (whatever that means). The only clue is that the parameters are listed as follows: (off, on, or record only).
It is a good reminder to read the FAQS, too.
