I don't know whether this particular machine is defective or if
this is a software problem, but the song/pattern/song mode switching
doesn't work correctly. Sometimes it works as you described... At
least half of the time, though, it jumps to some random measure after
it's finsihed the current pattern loop. For instance, if this is my
form:
Bar 01 - Pattern A
Bar 05 - Pattern B
Bar 09 - Pattern C
Bar 13 - Pattern D
Bar 17 - ---STOP---
I switch to pattern mode at bar 07 & let it loop for a while..
when I switch back to song mode it finishes the current loop & then
half the time it just goes randomly to any subsequent measure (lets
say bar 20). As in this case, it often jumps beyond the end of the
sequence & then just continues to endlessly loop the pattern that was
looping in pattern mode (pattern B) because there are no more pattern
changes in the sequence (obviously), and there is no stop command,
since it has already bypassed that measure & skipped over the entire
remainder of the song form!
Sometimes, it will return to some bar within the original song mode
loop, but not change into the next pattern when that bar comes
around.. (for example, instead of jumping to bar 20 it might go to
bar 08 then stay on that same pattern (B) on thru bar 09 until it
reaches the next change into pattern D at bar 13.. skipping pattern C
completely!)
Has anyone used this function extensively and NOT had these kind
of problems? I was planning to use this unit in live performance,
but if it continues to do this, it will be useless to me (plus, I
can't seem to find any other unit that will allow realtime change
from song to pattern mode & back)... any help would be greatly
appreciated...
Thanks,
Brach
