understanding the filters

understanding the filters

2002-03-24 by rob99brown

I've been having some fun exploring the filters. Interesting indeed!

What I dont get though is when I'm using a classic LPF and I turn the
cutoff all the way to the left, I'd expect to hear little or no
sound. Most presets I still hear the majority of the waveform there?

Whats up with that?

It's because the knobs is not automaticly routed to cutoff, but it's
routed thru the modulation matrix which can do lots of weird stuff...

So it's not a problem with the filter. It's just how every preset is
configured to respond to the cutoff knob. Make sure that the LFO
isn't routed to cutoff, or other modulation sources, except the
cutoff knob. Then you can be sure that the LP filter will behave the
way you expect.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
