Rests in step mode

Rests in step mode

2002-03-24 by just john

Is there a really simple way to enter, say, an 8th rest when I'm entering
8th notes in step mode? I know one can relatively easily move the entry
point with a few knob twiddles, but when one is in, say, tripleted 32d
mode, knowing the exact number is less likely than with 8ths. So a single
button, meaning "rest one step" would be nice.

(One workaround I do in other step mode sequencers is to enter a note a
couple octaves off, and then delete these stray notes after doing the step
entry.)

Isn't that what the "play" button does when you're in step mode?

Just hit the blinking Play button for a rest.

Thanks.

Now, to whoever handles documentation updates, this info should be included
in the section for step recording (pp 66-7 in my copy.)
