Hellou guys,
Can you please give a link to that xl7 presets editor. The latest good version.
Did you guys had any trubles with it? I remember that I tryed to use it, but still in a beta version, and I got some of the saved xl7 presets reset.
Thanks

I wrote a lengthy reply, but it didn't get posted. The bottom line:

http://www.emigr8.me.uk/music/tools/proteum.htm

The last I checked, the other one still had major problems.

Hope this helps.
Steve

I don't use the editors very much, but over the past few days I have been using them a little. I did not had problems with Proteum. In fact, I don't recall any having problems with it over the years--other than when I was doing some testing of new features being worked on a few years ago.

I also used Prodatum yesterday without it crashing. I believe it may still have a very nasty design problem when it boots--wiping out the last state settings that were in effect at power down. (Under OS2.0 The CS/P2500 saves some last state info and restores it upon power up.) I will run some tests shortly to see if this still happens.

Re: xl-7 sounds editor (Prodatum)

As promised, I did some quick tests and was not able to duplicate the wipe out problem in Prodatum. So I went back and found the write-up on this issue.

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/message/20136

I am not sure I will be able to duplicate these tests this weekend on the latest version of Prodatum.

However, I did notice yesterday and today that after changing the virtual Master Volume knob, sound stops on my P2500 until such time that I change the Master Volume by hand. I am not sure what';s going on there, or if it is unique to my setup.

Finally, I did test channel switching (selecting each of the channels) to see if that would trigger a crash. On Prodatum 0.38, a crash was triggered once followed by 3 succesful tests. On Prodatum 0.41, I was able to select each of the channels 3 times with no crash.

Hi - thanks for the info.

I made an heroic attempt last week to compile the Prodatum 0.41 source for Win7. I failed.
Instructions here if there are any coders about - http://prodatum.sourceforge.net/doc/build.html

Life goes on - I'll stick with Proteum for now - it's more stable and I'm familiar with it's quirks at this stage :)
