No I think the Toms have beats and arps and stuff but no patterns. When u reset the sequencer it SHOULD afaik reload everything to factory. Since u don't have the stock roms the factory patterns should point to the same memory slots which are fiilled with different roms thus different samples.

As for patterns, there are two things that I can think of (1) factory patterns and songs that needed to loaded into your E-Mu sequencer using e-loader and (2) riffs.

I believe there are copies of the factory patterns and songs in the files section for the XL-7 and possibly some of the others. However, since these are set up with program change (preset/patch) commands for ROMS that you don't have, you would have to manually reassign the presets to point to presets in the ROMS you do have.

As for riffs, some of the ROMS have special bts riffs that contain multi-track sequences that are triggered by audion or the trigger buttons. The original P2000 ROM doesn't have bts riffs. I don't know if the beat garden ROM does.

To find out if the sequencer is working, I would record somthing and play it back. If that works, take a sequence already in your box and reassign each channel to a preset that corresponds with ROMS that you do have installed.

You can reset all data, but that will probably just wipe out user presets and/or all sequences. You would still have to either record and then play a new pattern, or upload patterns and set them to point to your presets.

Hope this helps.

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/files/Command%20Station%20Data/

Here you will find:
--P2500 Patterns
--MP7 Patterns converted for the Pure Phatt ROM
--PX7 Patterns
--XL7 Patterns
--XL7 Songs

Considering you have the P2000 ROM, I would think that if you choose P2K presets that come close to the P2500 presets used, you might get some patterns that come close to how they sounded on the P2500.

Also, there might be P2500 bank conversions designed to work on the P2k ROM.
