Tip: VST step-sequencer that works well with CS

Hello everyone, Nice to see this group so active! Add my name to those interested in the Flash SIMMs project. A little tip for those who like to program sequences via their DAW. There is a simple and free 32-step sequencer call Stepbeater that allows you to assign instruments to respective midi key and channel. The nice thing is that you can drag and drop these sequences to your desktop and they load directly into E-loader with channel information preserved. Nice and fast to work with and compliments my XL-7 nicely. Get it here: http://users.frii.com/saffleck/stepbeater.html One issue I've found is that sometimes the imported midi file will have it's timing slightly off. To remedy this, briefly shorten the Sequence length on the CS to 1 bar, then back to 2 bars. Save and you're good to go. If you want to add swing later to one of the tracks, you will probably need to quantise the whole sequence first. YMMV - Somebody might find this useful. Cheers, J
