pad sensitivity

There is a guy on Ebay who sells pad sensitivity kits for the Akai MPD-32 midi controller with pads.
And there is a wave of complaints from people who say that the sensitivity on those units are poor from the factory.
I agree as I had one when they first came out. You have to nail the pad right in the middle with your finger or nothing much happens
no matter how much you play with the software sensitivity parameters. I emailed him pictures of the Command Station pad assembly and he's
supposed to get back to me about him possibly making a kit for the Command Station.
That was one of my biggest gripes before I sold my last PX-7, and I am not sure if I will pick up another unit. There is a part of me that
wants another one. It's not a big deal to just find one and buy it but the pads just irked me to no end. Why is it that that some days that
are fine and then some days you really have to bang on them. Even with a new pad kit from EPR I felt frustrated.
I ended up buying an Akai MPC-3000 and Roland MV-8800 and didn't like those much either.
Anyone have experience with the Yamaha RS-7000, Ensoniq ASR-X? It may be another PX-7 as my last resort. But those pads really got to me.
All the pads are different on all these boxes. There are small nuances of kinetic feel and a different experiences with each box.
