Proteum Version 38

Proteum Version 38

2010-10-13 by emigr8

Hi,
I have uploaded a new version of Proteum (version 38), which should fix the crash problem seen in the Arp Editor (reported by analogsignal in the XL7 group a week or so ago). At least, it fixes it on my box. I have also included a small optimisation to the editor to speed it up a bit. If it causes problems, revert an older version and tell me.

The download is in the usual location at:

http://www.emigr8.me.uk/music/tools/Proteum38.zip

If you have a really old version of Proteum (29 or below, I think), you may need to uninstall and re-install.

Have fun.
Keith

Thanks so much for the software, for continuing to support it, and for such quick turnarounds!!!!

Thanks very much! I will try it this weekend and report back.

Great job Keith! The Arp Editor is totally stable now. I even tried doing some weird stuff but it does not crash anymore.

I really appreciate your efforts and will be using Proteum more in the future.

Thanks,
Mike

I installed it, but the program is nowhere to be found in my list of programs.

I'm away from my music PC now but it is installed in folder like C:\Program Files\Saxon...

Thanks. Now the next problem is "The controller or B port is not responding" and "Device not responding". Does Proteum require me to use both A and B ports on my Proteus 2000? Also, if I already have Prodatum installed, does this cause conflicts?

Unless something has changed, having Proteum and Prodatum installed on your PC shouldn't make a differemce. You probably don't want to try running them both at the same time. As far as I remember you do not need to have both ports hooked up, but you do have to have a completed round trip midi hook-up (PC midi out to E-Mu midi in and E-Mu midi out to PC midi in). I believe you also need to have both the software and the e-mu set to communicate using the same sysex ID. If I remember correctly, you also have to tell your PC what midi device the E-Mu is hooked up to. My E-Mu is not currently connected to my PC, but I will see if I can set it up.
Hope this helps.
