Custom Roms... - Any updates?

I thought this was a retarded idea at first but now I am pretty stoked on the idea. Where are we at on this? How can I help? What's the next step? Has anyone pulled it off yet? What can I do to get this off the ground? If I have control of the kinds of tones that go on my own sticks... than I want this. I want to get the PX-7 synth engine another chance with my OWN tones. Updates? thoughts, etc?
