schematics?

schematics?

2010-08-25 by James Ulibarri

Does anyone have any schematics for the Command Stations (px-7 preferably)?
It's a long shot but I thought I would ask..

Re: [xl7] schematics?

Goodness gracious, I know you are trying to mod the unit, but you could probably find more info by googling it. I don't know about everybody else? but I'm just a so called "regular folk" who just use the machines how they come???? Creating sounds, (which I haven't done much of) and adding ROM's for more sounds, and with Midi and other equipment accessing the units. There are a few people out there that do crazy things to the units. I've seen people on Ebay selling circuit bent units, who are probably the people whom you need to talk to, look up "Emu Circuit bent" and find them and ask questions, I'm sure they could help you? Maybe?...
Good luck, also PX-7, XL-7, and MP-7 are the "SAME" just different colors and ROMs

That's not true the px7 has a better build quality and better processor.

Swapping an LCD is a pretty tame mod in my opinion. If it works... it works, if doesn't it doesn't. Non of it is a deal breaker for me.
I'm totally over those ROMS (you brought it up) anyways. They've never done a thing for me. Besides lately I have been having wandering eyes at an MPC-3000 or MPC-2500. We'll see what happens on the LCD next week.

How do you figure? It's the same box, I have 2 MP-7's an XL-7, and a PX-7, I use the XL-7 the most but they are all very much the same build, and maybe a few updates but it's not extreme. OK. if it is? I still own them all, but the general jist of what I was trying to say is they are the in the same box. Just like my Mac G5 is just a little different than my Mac PRO with an intel chip. My older Mac G4 works just as good as, if not more stable than both. People just get caught up in the newer items but forget that newer doesn't neccesarily mean better. I was Just trying to help. Mr MATT. Did you buy a new Iphone 4 and how many problems have you had?????
Good Luck to the original person to which this message was intended, But I won't comment anymore on this subject. I try to help where I can but Not with people pointing out useless info. This is the XL-7 group if anyone has forgotten.  I Still love this group.

I have 2 MPC 2500's and an MPC 5000, plus the older 2000 and 2000XL, I only use the MPC 2500's to control everything. I don't bother with the sequencer on the Emu pieces but just for fun. But the MPC 5000 had issues, and crashed the first day I bought it. The MPC 2500's have never crashed ( for 3 years now ) but as always they could. I have Hard drives in all of them to save all tracks, but I do it quickly. JUST IN CASE. Good luck.

Re: [xl7] schematics?

What are u talking about an Intel Mac and a powerpc Mac are the same? They are totally different animals.
Have u ever heard of Rosetta?
This might be unimportant when you're just pressing buttons but worlds of difference when you're repairing/modding the machine.
Most of the time with synths older is better, but in this case the px7 has upgraded build quality and better processor.
Bringing up the Iphone 4 is a red Herring fallacy since it has nothing to do with the topic. Iphones are garbage, especially iphone 4. Regardless of build I don't purchase apple products because of their human rights violations in China.
Why do you have four command stations? Sounds like you wasted a bunch of money on redundancy. Especially if you only use them for sound modules, you could have spent way less filling your Proteus 2500 with rom's.
Through your past posts about failed rom's, and now these posts, I've come to the conclusion that you have no idea what you're talking about.
Good day,
Matt

Alright ladies let's play nice and we'll just squash this thing and move on now.

Regarding the Command Station's sequencer.. Answer me this.. When in Real-Time mode... is there a way to keep the pads at full wack regarding Velocity? I want it always to be at a value of 127 now matter how hard I hit them. I know the Roland MV-8800 used to do this but I am not seeing in the PX-7. I want the velocity curve to be at full pressure 24/7 (for now). Maybe I missed something?

Hmm this would be helpful. The pads seem quite insensitive at times, especially with regard to the velocity. might this be doable in cords by re routing velocity to nowhere?

Matt, you're the mean one. I didn't say anything about what you have or what you think is redundant and wish you had, (I have multiples because I have multiple studios) if you have anything else to add to the comments besides bashing me then lets hear it. You must really hate your life, and the fact that someone has more than you. Especially those who have the money to buy Apple products. Go get a job that pays real money, but Keep it up. I can go on as long as you want.... Also I'm not your BRO, you must have me confused with someone you screwed over.

Re: [xl7] schematics?

yeah I know. And it's annoying that I have to sometimes go back in and dial in more pressure with the dials because
it didn't pick it up right or how i intended it to be. (and yes I have a new pad set from EPR). I send everything out to midi to external samplers so it's even more apparent when there is a drop in volume. I had an Akai MPD-32 also for a while that just quit didn't sit right with me.
It had a sweet on the pad and if you didn't nail it square on every time than you would end up recording a lower volume in that voice, and it has 7 curves to mess
with also, and it still wasn't right for me. I love and i hate the PX-7.

yeah I know.
