If you have a PC with Windows XP, you can use eloader 1.1 to save your sequencers onto your PC). Using the usb port on the E-Mu is much quicker than midi transfer. I don't know if the e-mu usb drivers work on later versions of Windows.

BTW, if you have 0% memory remaining, I don't think trying to compact will help. I think its more like defrag than compress.

for everyone else (OS-X, linux, future releases of win-blows) has anyone
tried to develop an open interface to the USB jack? has anyone asked EMU
for documented specs? is aaron still around?

i guess i can use MIDI dumps to/from linux, but something in the league of
prodatum with direct USB interface would rock.

apologies for cross-posting, & this may be away from your actual requirements, but have you seen this?

posted on the p2k list; proteum is a patch editor. works with all the proteus family. doesn't say if it handles sequences.

proteum? according to the system requirements it's win-blows only, and
uses MIDI, not USB.
