E-Loader,...,...

E-Loader,...,...

2001-09-14 by ellmu@yahoo.de

Hello to all,
firstly I´m very impressed of the emu-guys who are in this forum.
Only because of that I would never repent of buying an emu-gear. I
have also a novation nova and the support of the novation guys is
very bad so that I would never buy any novation product any more.
Here are my questions:
1.Will there be an update for the E-Loader? I use Wi98SE and have an
resolution of 1152X864 and there is a graphic problem. The first
panel with the menus does not appear correctly.(In my tests the
resolution is not important!)
2.Will it be possible to connect an USB MIDI-interface to the USB
port?
3.Will it be possible to implement MIDI-Timecode, or how can I sync
Cubase to the song position of my XL-7? The song position marker does
not function.(or I am doing something wrong?)
4.Will it be possible to implement the opportunity to transmit MIDI-
controller over #95?
5.If I insert a new pattern in my song the pattern after will be
erased? Is this a bug or I am doing something wrong?

PS.: My condolence to all Americans.

Gerald

Note there is nothing in the Toolbar window that can't be done in other
ways, so at least you are not losing any functionality. We did notice
that if you use an alternate system font size (Large Fonts?) that there
can be some drawing problems. Is this what you are seeing? We will
address that in a future revision of the software.

The Host port will connect the XL/MP-7 to your computer, not to any
other peripheral. A USB MIDI interface can also be connected to your
computer at the same time (You may need a USB Hub if you run out of USB
ports). This is the model of USB - all peripheral devices connect to the
Host as a Centralized Hub. Peripheral devices cannot connect directly to
each other.

You did turn on MIDI clock out right? SPP does not transmit if MIDI clock
out is off.

To control what?

The manual is slightly incorrect in this regard. Think of "insert" as
"divide". Go to a bar that does not otherwise have a pattern change command
on it, and press repeat. This divides the pattern that used to span that
measure into two parts. For example:

S01 PatternA len:8 bar:001
S02 PatternB len:8 bar:009
S03 PatternC len:8 bar:017

if you go to bar:005 (halfway through the first step) and press repeat,
you'll get this:

S01 PatternA len:4 bar:001
S02 PatternA len:4 bar:005
S03 PatternB len:8 bar:009 <- note this didn't move
S04 PatternC len:8 bar:017

Now, you can change the length of any step and have the times slide around.
Ditto with erase, by the way. It simply removes the step, leaving all the
other times as is.

I, for one, could control my ASR-X Pro and Korg ER-1 using non-
registered parameter numbers 98 and 99.

For that purpose, it would be sweet if we had the option to twirl a
knob in program mode and have the LCD momentarily display what CC# is
being transmitted, its value as you turn the knob, and the original
value of the CC# before you altered it.

As it is now, we have no way of knowing the CC# value when we turn the
knob. If this isn't too difficult to program (along with event list
editing), XL-7 would eliminate the last reason I hold on to my RM1X....
